When to visit

With a subtropical climate from season to season, the best time to visit Coffs Harbour depends on your itinerary. To make the most of the beaches, plan your visit between December and February, when temperatures are at their peak. If you’re hoping to enjoy the town, the spring months provide a calendar of festivals and events, while autumn and winter bring cooler weather, fewer crowds and reduced hotel rates and airfares. Between May and November is the best time to visit to see humpback whales from a cruise or the Eastern Side lookout.
