When to visit

Welcoming visitors from far and wide, Port Macquarie is a haven for holidaymakers. And if you’re in search of sun and sea, this charming town on the Mid North Coast is almost always at its best. Travel to Port Macquarie between December and February to enjoy the warmest temperatures of the year, or take advantage of off-peak travel periods in June, July and August.

What is the main airport called?

Port Macquarie Airport (PQQ). It is located 5km west of the Port Macquarie CBD, off Hastings River Drive on Boundary Street. The airport on the northerneasten coast of NSW, is owned and managed by the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council.

Arriving in Port Macquarie 

When your flight touches down, the friendly staff at Port Macquarie Airport will be on hand to help ensure your time on the Mid North Coast gets off to a great start. 

Getting into Port Macquarie from Port Macquarie Airport

The most affordable way to travel from the airport to Port Macquarie is by public transport, with a bus stop located adjacent to the rental car park. For a more direct route to your destination, taxis, ride share and shuttle services are located just beyond the baggage claim area.

Getting around Port Macquarie 

Once you arrive in Port Macquarie’s city centre, there are a number of ways to start exploring. The public transport system, Busway offers regular bus services seven days a week, while the Settlement Point Ferry and Hibbard Ferry link the CBD to the North Shore. If you’re planning to discover the scenic Port Macquarie coast during your stay, car hire can be booked in advance or easily organised on arrival.
