Vanuatu: Flights to and from Port Vila

Last updated: 4.21pm (AEDT), 21 December 2024

Qantas will resume passenger flights to and from Port Vila from Sunday 22 December, with the airport cleared to re-open following assessment by the relevant authorities.

Flights from Port Villa are currently not open to new bookings until Wednesday 25 December while we work with Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to prioritise customers with existing bookings and those who need additional assistance.

We’re aware some customers may have already travelled on government assistance flights, and we’re contacting customers directly to see if they still wish to fly on a scheduled Qantas or Jetstar flight.

Australian citizens and permanent residents in Vanuatu can also register with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) via their registration online portal to receive important information and updates, and should read the latest travel advice at Smartraveller

Important Note: Communication with those in Vanuatu may be limited due to the earthquake. You can contact us on our Qantas Vanuatu Hotline +61 2 91 237 498 (outside Australia) or 1300 614 094 (within Australia).

For real-time flight updates see  flight status or the Qantas App

Upcoming travel until 5 January 2025

We’re also offering options for customers who no longer wish to travel. If you've booked a Qantas flight to or from Port Vila for travel between 17 December 2024 and 5 January 2025, we’re offering a refund, travel credit or date change (up to 14 days from date of travel, subject to availability).

If you booked directly with Qantas, visit Manage booking to make changes to your booking, or contact us to discuss your options including a travel credit or refund.

If you booked through a Travel Agent or other third-party booking provider, please contact them directly.

Baggage allowances will be unchanged from your original booking.
