Hilton Tokyo Bay – Hotel Review

No secrets here: the official Tokyo Disney Resort hotel of Hilton Tokyo Bay is unabashedly family-friendly. Kid-focused interiors, play spaces in the most helpful of places (near the check-in desks) and treehouse-themed bunk beds give the most important guests exactly what they want – with a few extras for their parents, too. Where is Hilton Tokyo Bay?

Curving around the edge of Tokyo Bay to the city’s east, Hilton Tokyo Bay is delightfully close to the Disney cluster – just three kilometres to the entrance of Tokyo Disneyland, in fact. It takes about 45 minutes to reach Narita International Airport or, if you’re Disney-ed out, the centre of the Tokyo sprawl is 20 minutes to the west by car.

What’s near Hilton Tokyo Bay?

The big guns: Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea. As an official hotel of the parks, Hilton Tokyo Bay is exceptionally close to the action, making the journey in for a day of fun and exhaustion absolutely seamless. Bayside Station is across the road from the hotel and the next stop is your gateway to the Disney universe.

Room types

Don’t expect adult-friendly luxury here – this one’s really just for the kids. You’ll want to opt for a themed room (why not go full throttle?). Not just because some of the rooms have decorative flair, including treehouse-style bunk beds or cloud-painted ceilings, but because the hallways that lead to rooms are a bit of a wonderland, too. Inclusions in all are fairly basic, with TVs, small seating areas and very simple tea and coffee nooks. The Crabtree & Evelyn amenities are a nice touch.

Restaurants and bars

There are six eateries on-site, the most kid-friendly option being Lounge O owing to the lolly-coloured buffet area serving sweet treats in the afternoons. There’s also grab ‘n’ go spot Fresh Connection is helpful for pre-pack snack pick-ups. For something more substantial, head to The Square: Ascendo for steak and seafood, or The Square: Forest Garden for its sprawling buffet. Tthe more grown-up Dynasty restaurant focuses on Shanghai specialties and Chinese regional cuisine.

Travel for work

You’ll struggle to find space (and peace) to work from your room but wi-fi is freely available. The hotel does have several areas fit for conferences and meetings, with a space that suits groups as small as 10 right up to those as large as 1400.

Gym and pool

Parents aren’t overlooked. If you can find some treasured spare time, there’s an impressive fitness centre, Livista Fitness, with a timetable of complimentary classes, an indoor pool and squash court, connecting to an enormous outdoor pool open to guests for the summer months.

Accessibility

Common areas of the hotels are fully accessible, including parking areas and one accessible room, which has standard inclusions such as wide entryways to bathrooms and visual alarms.

What you need to know

Children under six stay for free when sharing a bed with an adult, which is great news for families with younger kids.
