Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel – Hotel Review
Proximity and ease of access to Tokyo Disneyland is just the beginning of the family-friendly perks of Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel. Splash pools, manicured gardens and even a mini-golf course are part of this hotel’s varied menu of amenities, perfect for families that favour variety over frills. Read on for the full review.
Where is the Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel?
In the same part of the Tokyo Bay c-curve as Tokyo Disneyland, about 30 kilometres west of Tokyo proper. It takes roughly 45 minutes to reach Narita International Airport by car, and around 20 minutes to drive to the centre of the city (in the opposite direction).
What’s near Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay Hotel?
The hotel staff, your kids, your back pocket… they all know you’ve come to this part of town for one thing: Disneyland. The journey from your front door to the two parks (Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea) is easy and swift: it’s about a five-minute walk to Bayside Station – on the DisneyResort Line – and then a 10-minute monorail ride from Tokyo Disneyland Station. You’ll arrive before the kids can say, “Are we there yet?”

Unlike some other Disney-affiliated hotels, the rooms at Sheraton Grande are functional and utilitarian. For the prospect of sleep and pockets of relaxation, they do the job: there’s free wi-fi, feathertop beds and coffee makers. If you’re seeking a little bit more soul in your furnishings, the Sheraton Club, Park Wing and Ocean Dream rooms have had a purely aesthetic refresh. Most configurations have all the beds in one room, with minimal living space, unless you upgrade to something like the Japanese Suite with six beds, where the sleeping spaces are separated into two.
Restaurants and bars
Casual eateries lead the charge here. The window-framed Grand Café, overlooking the property’s garden, is a dining hall-style space serving breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets — mostly Western-style dishes such as omelettes and, at dinner, roast beef with fresh herbs. Free-flow soft drink options, candy spreads and popcorn stations are hit with hungry kids. The dimly lit Maihama Teppanyaki+ throws freshly caught seafood and top-notch proteins on the grill, while Asuka zeros in on sushi and tempura.
Travel for work
All rooms have desk space and wi-fi but you’ll struggle to get work done in such a small area. Rooms on the 12th floor have access to the Sheraton Club, a spacious lounge spot with three complimentary meal services, including Japanese breakfasts and evening canapés and cocktails. The business centre forms part of the lounge, inclusive of printing services and workstations and there are magazine and newspaper stations when leisure time calls.
Spa, gym and pool
The splash-friendly fun centres on the tastefully designed grotto-style pool with mini waterfalls and shallow wading areas. Outside of the summer season, only one of the three pools is open: the roof of the indoor heated pool is fitted with skylights and is accessible throughout the year. There’s also a onsen-style space open year-round and late into the evening: the perfect finish to an afternoon spent at Venus of Lymph, the on-site spa that specialises in a lymphatic-focused massage for deep restoration.
To really get the blood pumping, the generous on-site fitness centre is open 24 hours, seven days a week.
Accessibility
There are select rooms for guests with disabilities, as well as common areas that support access for some disabilities including the pool, lobby area, meeting spaces and business centre.
