Darwin’s waterfront precinct, where visitors and locals cluster for dips in the lagoon and public swimming area, is just over 10 minutes away on foot. Darwin is an easily traversable city: with a car, you’re also less than 10 minutes from Mindil Beach and its famous sunset food markets, the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory and Charles Darwin National Park. 

Room types 

Spanning double-capacity rooms right up to sprawling, fully-equipped apartments, the property has a room to suit every kind of traveller. The rooms are dressed in functional whites and greys, which, in harbour view rooms, leaves the eye to enjoy the waterfront below. Restaurants and bars 

The bistro-esque O.A.K. Restaurant has a rotation of fresh and tasty meals, some more adventurous than others. There are the hotel favourites — beef burgers, club sandwiches and the like — and also a sprinkle of more refined options. The mango panna cotta, served with pistachio soil and mango mint salsa makes for a refreshing palette cleanser in the heat, especially after a pan-seared barramundi. 

Travel for work

There are five event spaces for hire at Oaks, which can also be coupled with accommodation packages. All rooms include full work stations for deep, remote focus,, as well as free wi-fi.

Gym and pool

The on-site gym is small but light and bright; it looks onto the similarly small but serviceable rooftop pool.

Oaks has eight adapted rooms and the hotel is wheelchair accessible.
