Crown Metropol Perth – Hotel Review
Designed with the specific objective of convincing guests to “never want to leave”, Perth’s luxurious Crown Metropol more than delivers on its promise. Your first stop is likely the resort-style pool with bar service and private cabanas for hire, followed closely by the indulgent Crown Spa, a grand space serviced by an extensive treatment menu and La Prairie products. Read on for the full review.
There’s also a hair salon, nail bar and gym, and indoor play area The Hub for kids under 16 at the property, as well as 20 food and beverage options, from the renowned Nobu to the grand Rockpool Bar & Grill. There really is no reason to go anywhere else.
Where is Crown Metropol Perth?
The Crown complex is located in Burswood, a waterside neighbourhood just east of the CBD. Reaching the edge of the city proper takes about five minutes by car and the airport is a convenient 15-minute drive away.
What’s near Crown Metropol Perth?
Part of the Crown Perth complex, you can dine here at anything from lauded restaurants Nobu, Rockpool and Bistro Guillaume to McDonald’s and anything in between. There is live theatre, music and entertainment on the various stages, plus sports bars, nightclubs and the casino. What did we say about never leaving?

A palette of pale grey, crisp white and moody charcoal gives rooms a sleek and elegant feel, and the corner windows direct the focus outwards: in Luxe View suites, the reward is an outlook over the Swan River and nearby CBD. The irresistible Loft suite has a panoramic aspect of the city (along with a dedicated concierge, enormous balcony and separate living and dining spaces).
Restaurants and bars
A major drawcard of staying in the Crown complex is the proximity to some of the city’s best eateries. It’d take you weeks to comfortably make your way through but there are distinct highlights to hit. First, the elegant Nobu, where expertly prepared Japanese reaches new levels of luxury. Then there’s the romantically lit Rockpool Bar & Grill, a stalwart Modern Australian eatery that’s as dependable as it is delicious and Bistro Guillaume, which serves French classics in a breezy and relaxed poolside restaurant.
Sustainability
Crown has a few sustainability projects in the pipeline. You won’t see many of them at Crown Metropol but they’re there: there’s an underground water bore that irrigates the gardens without utilising the town water supply and a waste management process of everything from cooking oil to soap that aims to divert 90 per cent of waste to landfill.
Travel for work
No squashed corner desks here: each room has a full-sized desk space for remote working and all rooms include complimentary wi-fi. There’s also The Office, a dedicated meeting space bookable for groups or anyone who needs quiet surroundings to get to inbox zero.
Gym, pool and spa
Tick, tick and tick. Crown Metropol has it all: a sprawling pool with areas for energetic kids (and anyone seeking solace from them), a fitness centre with bookable personal training, as well as Crown Spa, a fabulously OTT wellness spot in the complex that slathers you with indulgent La Prairie products. Need something a little more potent? Dr Anh, the resident cosmetic physician and plastic surgeon, offers on-site appointments, too.
What you need to know
If you’re going to splurge, book one of the six private cabanas at The Pavilion. They line a private pool and include (unshareable, thank you very much) sun loungers, a dedicated host to cater to your every whim, plasma TV, wi-fi and minibar facilities and privacy curtains, should the sun get too strong.
