Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel – Hotel Review

Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel being named as such isn’t a trick. The iconic symbol of Paris’ Belle Époque era steps into frame seemingly everywhere at this simple and comfortable hotel in the city’s Left Bank: it peeks through room windows, looms over lunch tables at the on-site restaurant and is the first thing you see when you step out the front door. There’s another marvel at this Pullman outpost. The on-site eatery Frame, where plates are populated by the spoils from the hotel’s own carefully tended garden on the roof. If you’ve come to Paris to admire its most famous architectural icon (and eat some hyper-local treasures), this is the place for you.

Where is Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel?

Straddling the 7th and 15th arrondissements in the city’s Left Bank. The closest metro station is Champ de Mars Tour Eiffel – one that sees a steady stream of visitors, for obvious reasons. The hotel is about 30 minutes by car from Charles de Gaulle airport and some prepaid taxi services offer a flat fee (around €58).

What’s near Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel?

The Iron Lady herself is the big-ticket item. Although she can be seen in staggering clarity from some of the hotel’s best north(ish)-facing rooms, you can have a closer look with minimum effort: you’ll be at her galvanised feet in just four minutes on foot.

Room types

Cool greys and sleek whites give the utilitarian rooms a welcome calm, while picture windows give the Eiffel top billing in rooms that have the panoramic perk (view options are specified in their room names, so you won’t open the curtains to a courtyard unless you’ve chosen as such). A sprinkling of little extras – including a Nespresso machine, cosy slippers, rainshower and lovely amenities from New York-based brand C.O. Bigelow – up the feeling of luxury.

Restaurants and bars

On-site eatery Frame Brasserie is a fuelling station with quite the view. The best pairing for the restaurant’s substantial (mostly) French plates – chestnut soup with sheep’s cheese, beef with Foie Gras escalope with truffle slices – is a table on the terrace, while Le Tour Eiffel looms overhead. (Frame continues on the hotel’s 10th floor with a thin wraparound balcony boasting similarly exceptional views.) Most impressively, a sizable portion of the eatery’s fresh produce is drawn from very nearby. The hotel’s sprawling rooftop garden houses everything from fruit trees to a henhouse and a collection of beehives, with enough seasonal spoils to produce a staggering 500 kilos of herbs, fruit and vegetables per year, most of which ends up on your plate.

Travel for work

All rooms have full-sized desks for remote working, as well as free wi-fi.

Meeting rooms don’t come more impressive than those on the hotel’s 10th floor, which are glass-topped to make the most of the proximity to the tower. Although AV equipment is of course available for hire, you’ll likely have trouble keeping the attention on anything other than the view.

Gym

Mitigate the consumption of the city’s rich food with a visit to the hotel fitness centre, equipped with cardio equipment, free weights and towels.

Sustainability

In addition to the rooftop space, the hotel has a rigorous exclusion policy for the known nasties: you won’t find disposable bottles, plastic straws, stirrers or individually wrapped food products at the breakfast buffet, and there’s additional care taken with everything from solvent-free cleaning products, to tea bags composed of vegetable fibre.
