How to Travel to Fiji From Australia Right Now
You’re travelling to Fiji. You’re ready for crystal-clear water, swaying palms and balmy nights. But there’s one thing you need to know before going to Fiji (apart from where you can get your first Mai Tai). Yes, we’re talking about COVID-19 rules and regulations…
Fiji now offers quarantine-free travel to everyone around the world – but you do need to be fully vaccinated.
Anyone over the age of 12 also needs to do a Rapid Antigen Test within 72 hours of their arrival in Fiji and this must be booked before you step on the plane. The Fijian government has set up an online portal so you can book and pay for your RAT in advance.
All you have to do is select your hotel or resort from the list and pay the fee, which ranges from FJ$28 to FJ$68, depending on where you’re staying. If you’re staying with friends, you will need to book into a nearby clinic.
Once you’ve paid online, the hotel or clinic will organise your RAT.
At the airport in Australia, you will need to show:
- Proof of full vaccination (for anyone 16 and over). We recommend having a hard copy on hand.
- Proof of travel insurance that includes COVID-19 coverage.
- Confirmation email showing you have paid for your in-country RAT.
