What is the main airport called?

Launceston Airport (LST) is located 15 km (9.5 miles) from the city. It's Tasmania's fastest growing airport and the second busiest in the state.

Arriving in Launceston

The friendly staff at Launceston Airport will be waiting to greet you when you land. Once you collect your bags, there are several transport options available to get you into town.

Getting into Launceston from Launceston Airport

The easiest way to get into Launceston from the airport is taxi, shuttle, rideshare or car hire which can be accessed from the terminal. For a more affordable alternative, a shuttle bus operates between Launceston Airport and hotels or accommodation for the 15km trip to the town centre.

Getting around Launceston

The best way to get around central Launceston is by bicycle or on foot, with plenty of cycling and walking tracks. There’s also taxis, Metro, car rentals and public transport. There is also a free tourist bus, which is a great way to see the major sites of the city such as the Queen Victoria Museum. For longer trips throughout the state, Tassielink Transit and Redline Coaches operate an extensive timetable to most major Tasmanian towns.

What is the main airport called? 

Auckland Airport (AKL). The airport is a major airline hub in New Zealand and there are many domestic and international destinations for visitors to continue on to.  The airport is located near Mangere,  21 kilometres south of the Auckland city centre. 

Baggage allowance

 Passengers on Qantas flights from Auckland are allocated checked baggage If you need more luggage, you can purchase an additional baggage allowance online prior to departure.      

Checking in 

Ensure you check-in online or via the Qantas App before you arrive at the airport from 24 hours before departure.
