The best time to visit Montral, Québec is during summer (June to September) as the city comes to life with festivals including Jazz de Montréal and Just For Laughs Festival. It’s the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors and cool off at the Plage Jean-Doré and stroll around the Old Port. Temperatures average around 26°C. Autumn (September to October) is a beautiful time to visit to see the colourful leaves around Mount Royal Park and the Botanic gardens. Winter gets very chilly with snow, winter festivals and is a lovely time to enjoy shopping, ice skating and Christmas markets. Temperatures drop to around -10°C.

Montreal Airport (YUL). Officially named as Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. Is the international airport serving Montreal Island, located 20 km away from Montreal city centre. It is the busiest airport in the province of Quebec and the third one in Canada.

Getting into Montréal from Montréal Airport

Montreal Airport offers a variety of transport options to make getting into the city centre easy. Public transport options include the 747 bus line that runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, between Montréal-Trudeau Airport and downtown Montréal. Travel time may vary between 45 to 70 minutes, depending on traffic. VIA Rail Canada is the trainline connecting to the city or take a regional shuttle service with Skyport. Car rental agencies are available with a variety of providers available to book. It is possible to take a taxi from the arrivals level near the central exit located in front of the cloakroom, where a dispatcher will assist you. Private limousines can be arranged, along with ride share services Uber and Eva.

Getting around Montréal

The best ways to get around Montreal are on foot or by public transport. Montreal is a very walkable city; however the Montreal Metro and bus are both cost-efficient and easy to use. The metro (subway) has just four lines connecting the downtown centre to major tourist sites, bus stops and train stations. Experience Montreal like a local by hopping on a bike with many cycling paths thought the city. Enjoy a ride in a taxi, Uber or hire a car to explore the city. As Montréal is an island, there are water taxis running between the Old Port of Montréal and Parc Jean-Drapeau, Longueuil, and along the St. Lawrence River.
