What is the main airport called?

Raleigh–Durham International Airport (RDU) is the main airport serving Raleigh, Durham, and the surrounding Research Triangle region of North Carolina. It is located in Wake County and is surrounded by the City of Raleigh to the North and East, and the towns of Cary and Morrisville to the South. The airport has three runways and is located about 16km from both downtown Durham and downtown Raleigh.

The staff at Raleigh Airport will greet you when you land and assist with your needs. Once you collect your bags from the arrivals area, there are various transport options available to get you on your way.

Getting into Raleigh from Raleigh International Airport

Getting into Raleigh from Raleigh International Airport is simple with various transport options available at the airport. Taxis are available through Taxi Taxi or a walk-up taxi service is available at both terminals in the taxi zones. Other options include personal transport services that pick up from the brown limo zones outside bag claim in each terminal.  Ride share services, tour and charter services are also available at RDU. Many hotels from across the Research Triangle Region provide a shuttle service to and from Raleigh-Durham International Airport. Hotels drop off and pick up from the red zones outside of the terminals. Car rental services are available at the airport, catch the shuttle bus for your rental car company at the green Rental Car shuttle stops outside bag claim at Zone 4 in Terminal 1 and Zone 5 in Terminal 2. Public transport options include the GoTriangle Route 100 and RDU shuttle public bus routes. Amrack is the train that operates in the Raleigh region.

Getting around Raleigh

Interstate highways and transport systems make getting around Raleigh, N.C., a breeze with such a wide variety of choices. Located centrally on the East Coast, Raleigh is halfway between Florida and New York City making transport easy. Within the area, the GoRaleigh, GoCary, downtown Raleigh R-LINE and Wolfline bus systems provide riders with an extensive network of local routes. The Research Triangle Region (Raleigh area, Durham and Chapel Hill) is served by the GoTriangle bus service. Bus fares are cheap and lots of busses are equipped with Wi-Fi. Traveling in downtown Raleigh? Hop on the free R-LINE downtown circulator to get around to the best things to do, restaurants, shopping and hotels. You can also catch paid rickshaws for a fun way to see the city. Getting around the city via car, whether you’re driving or taking a taxi, Uber or Lyft is easy.

Brisbane Airport (BNE). Located a 30-minute drive from the city centre on Airport Drive at Eagle Farm. It is main airport serving Brisbane and South East Queensland. There are two terminals at Brisbane Airport: International and Domestic.
