Getting into Glasgow from Glasgow Airport

Getting to and from Glasgow Airport is easy with all the different transport options available. Ranging from app-based ride services to public transport you'll find a mode of travel to meet your needs. The Glasgow City Express service 500 is the official bus service linking the city centre to the airport in only 15 minutes. Catch it from stand 1 at the airport, or stand 46 from Buchanan Bus Station in Glasgow City, with further convenient stops available in either direction. The Glasgow City Express also connects you to Paisley Gilmour Street Train Station, which is the closest train station to the airport and connects to services throughout Glasgow and Scotland. Taxis or app-based ride services are an easy option, with a taxi rank available directly outside the terminal building, and several hire car companies available beside Terminal 2 or just outside the main terminal close to the domestic arrivals.

Getting around Glasgow

Glasgow is a compact city, so there are several walking, cycling and public transport options for getting around on your trip regardless of weather, plans and fitness levels. If the weather is pleasant, the best way to explore the city centre is on foot, giving you the opportunity to take your time and soak up the architecture and culture of your surrounds. OVO bikes are a great option, with the rental bike service offering several pick-up and parking points and an impressive cycle network criss-crossing the best sites of the city. If you’d like to use public transport, the subway is the most convenient method to reach much of the city centre, Southside and West End of Glasgow. Circuit services depart every 15 minutes and take just 24 minutes to stop at all 15 major stations. Taxis and app-based ride services are also available wherever you travel in the city.
