The best time to visit Atlanta is in spring (March to May) where you can take advantage of the mild weather while still enjoying the city's outdoor concerts, lush green spaces and stroll through the botanic gardens. Temperatures in spring range around 20°C, though there can be some rain. Summers (June to August) are hot and humid, ranging from 20°C to 32°C. What is the main airport called?

Atlanta Airport (ATL). Officially known as Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport. It is the primary international airport serving Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The airport is located 11 km south of the Downtown Atlanta district.

Arriving in Atlanta

The helpful staff at Atlanta Airport will be greet you when you land. Once you collect your bags from the arrivals area, there are a number of different transport options available to get you on your way.

Getting into Atlanta from Atlanta Airport 

There are multiple transport options available for passengers at Atlanta airport to easily get downtown. Just steps away from baggage claim is the MARTA, to be quickly transported into the heart of Atlanta. This is the train service with a red and yellow line from the airport to take you to your destination. MARTA bus 191 is the bus stop, if you wish to take this option. It's best to buy a Breeze card to use on buses, trains and streetcars. If you prefer to ride in a car, there are car rentals available, take a taxi or ride share service. The taxi rank is located in the yellow bus aisle and it takes around 16 minutes to get to Atlanta Business District. Alternatively, you may wish to organise a shuttle with your hotel.

Getting around Atlanta

Getting around Atlanta is easy with a range of comfortable transport options available to explore the city. Public transport is a convenient option and MARTA, the transit rail system can take you across the city, through the unique neighbourhoods and beyond. A fun way to see the city is on the Atlanta streetcar or take one of the many buses. It's best to buy a Breeze card to use on the public transport network. You may like to hire a car, use rideshare, hop in a taxicab, shuttle or even indulge in a limo service. Or, take in some fresh air and enjoy a stroll through the town and beautiful parks on foot or bicycle.

Darwin Airport. Located 13km from the city centre on Henry Wrigley Drive, Marrara, Darwin International Airport (DRW) is the busiest and largest airport in the Northern Territory. Both domestic and international services operate from the same airport.
