When your flight arrives in Barcelona, you’ll be welcomed by the staff the airport to get your visit off to the right start. 

Getting into Barcelona from Barcelona Airport   

Getting into Barcelona is easy, with a range of transport options to suit your needs. Choose from public transport, taxi, ride share, hotel shuttle, private transfer or car rental. Taking the train from BCN airport to the city centre is a good option with trains running every 30 minutes. Take the R2 Nord line that reaches the main station in the city in around 20 minutes. By metro, take the L9 Sud with a stop outside both terminal 1 and 2 running every 7 minutes to the city centre and stops along the way. The aerobus goes directly to the city centre, with the bus stop located at terminal 1.  Taxi and Uber are a convenient way to travel and located at both terminals. It takes between 30 to 40 minutes to reach the city depending on the traffic. It's possible to rent a car near the arrivals area, or you may wish to organise a hotel shuttle or private transfer.

Getting around Barcelona

Getting around Barcelona and its metropolitan area is easy with an efficient public transport network – metro, trams, buses and the cities and suburban rail service (FGC). Public transport is the quickest, simplest and most convenient way of getting around Barcelona. You can choose from the different ticket types and travel cards. The city also has a public bike hire scheme with more than 200 km of bike lanes and you can cycle through Barcelona's open spaces and parks. There are more than 10,000 taxis in the city which can be easily identified by their yellow and black colours, a green light on the roof indicated it's availability. Uber also operate in Barcelona, which is a good way to travel if you don’t speak Spanish. Other options include renting an electric cycle or you can rent a car, though with an efficient public transport network you may not need to.
