Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER). The airport is an international airport in Schönefeld, just south of the German capital Berlin in the state of Brandenburg. The airport is located 18 kilometres south-east of the city centre.

When your flight arrives in Berlin you’ll be welcomed by the staff at the airport to get your visit off to the right start.
Getting into Berlin from Berlin Airport
For a relaxed start to get into Berlin from the airport, choose from public transport, coaches, taxi, Uber, car sharing or car hire. BER is very well connected to public transport in Berlin and surrounding areas. The Airport Express (FEX) and regional trains (RE7, RB14) travel between the airport and Berlin central station. The S-Bahn train is also available, though not as fast as the Airport Express. The railway station at the airport is directly below T1 and the journey time takes 30 minutes. Express buses travel frequently are also available, running between Rudow station and the airport. It takes 18 minutes to get to Terminal 1 and is the fastest way to reach Berlin city centre. By taxi there are ranks at both terminals, or you can book an Uber through the app. Alternatively, you can book a private transfer to your destination, take an intercity coach, use the car sharing options or rent a car. Car service counters from various rental providers can be found at terminal 1. Your vehicle will then be parked in the nearby car park P2 (car rental centre).
Getting around Berlin
Getting around Berlin is easy as the city features a well-connected public transport system and the German trains are very efficient. This include the U-Bahn (underground trains), S-Bahn (light rail), buses and trams. The city is divided into three different fare zones: A, B and C. The A zone covers the inner city, the B zone covers the area between the inner city and city limits and the C zone is the area outside of Berlin. Its best to buy the Berlin Welcome card for unlimited travel in the zones you choose on public transport. Taxis in Berlin are plentiful and cheap, or you can book and Uber through the app. It is possible to rent a car, though parking can be tricky, so you're best to use public transport. Cycling is an extremely popular way of getting around Berlin, with many cycle paths. You can hire a bike through the bikeshare scheme. Alternatively, you may wish to join a tour.
