When to visit

The best time to visit Brussels is in summer (June to August) to enjoy the festivals, events and beer gardens. Temperatures in summer range from 16°C to 18°C. Winter is also a popular time to visit with twinkling lights, Christmas markets and shopping the many stores. Temperatures are chilly, between 3°C and 6°C. Getting into Brussels from Brussels Airport    

With a range of transport options available at Brussels Airport, it's easy to reach the city centre. Choose to rent a car, take public transport, taxi, limousine, airport shuttle or rideshare. Several car rental services are located at the airport, along with a car-sharing system. It takes approximately 25 minutes to reach the city centre. To quickly and efficiently reach your destination, take a taxi from the airport without stress. Taxis are located in front of the arrivals hall and licensed taxis can be identified by the yellow-blue licence plates. If you wish to arrive in style or simply after a comfortable way to travel, try booking a limousine. A seamless way to travel to the heart of Brussels is to take one of the many buses. Coach and airport shuttles are available close to the arrival’s hall, intercity bus services can take you to cities in Belgium and beyond, hotel shuttles can be organised or you can take a public bus. The bus station is located one floor down from the Arrivals Hall. Direct train services from Brussels airport can take you to the city centre and the train station is located directly under the departures and arrivals hall.

Getting around Brussels

Getting around Brussels is easy with a wide range of public transport options, along with bikes, taxis, Uber, walking or tours. The city has a well-developed public transport network, with trains, trams, buses and the metro all available, depending on where you want to go. You can also hire a bike through the Villo bike share programme. The city has many cycle paths or you can cycle on the road and it's a good idea to download a map to get you to where you want to go. Walking is an easy way to get around and avoid the traffic. Public transport options include trains, trams, buses and metro and often quicker than using a car. If you don't have a car, you can use car share when you need it. Taxis are available and a practical way to get around throughout the day and night. Alternatively, you may wish to book an Uber or join a tour.
