Fukuoka International Airport (FUK) It is the main gateway to Fukuoka on the island of Kyushu, Japan. It's located 3km east of Hakata city. The airport has both an international and domestic terminal.

Getting into Fukuoka from Fukuoka Airport

Getting into Fukuoka city from Fukuoka Airport is easy, with various transport options available. A convenient way to travel is to take a taxi which takes about 15 minutes to the city centre. Multiple taxi stands are available outside the terminals. The airport is well connected to the city by subway, with stations at both the domestic and international terminals. The subway is the quickest way, taking only 10 minutes. Local buses are available at the airport and travel to many destinations over Kyushu. It’s possible to rent a car from the airport information centre, to explore the island at your own pace.

Getting around Fukuoka

Travelling within Fukuoka is convenient to use public transport, with trains, subways and buses available. It’s best to buy a prepaid transport card to use on all modes of public transport. It’s a good idea to buy a Fukuoka Tourist City pass to use on all trains, subways and buses, along with free or discounted admission to famous tourist sites. These can be purchased at information desks at Hakata Station and Fukuoka Airport and ticket offices in the city. Other ways to get around are ferry, buses, motorcycle, walking or renting a bike.
