Getting into Istanbul from Istanbul Airport

There are multiple transport options available for passengers at Istanbul to get to the city centre safely. Istanbul airport buses run from the airport, while airport taxis are available around the clock reaching the city centre in about 60 minutes. The new metro line also serves Istanbul airport, or you may wish organise a private car or hotel shuttle.

Getting around Istanbul

The best ways to get around Istanbul are the buses, metro and trams, which conveniently cover the tourist attractions. If you're exploring the city centre, it’s easy to do on foot or a combination of the public transport options. The districts of Sultanahmet, Besiktas, and Eminou are the three main areas where tourist attractions reside. You can easily walk between these three districts since they sit next to each other. Trams are simple to use as there are only 3 lines, while the metro is the quickest way to move around to avoid the traffic. Tickets are available from one of the many vending machines at the stations. The hop-on hop-off bus is a convenient way to see the sights or you may wish to join a tour. Uber is a better and safer option than taking a taxi, as you will know the fare before you ride.
