The best time to visit Mexico City is from December to April, as its the dry season, with little rain. The average temperatures is around 28°C, perfect to take advantage of the warm weather. Summer (June to October) is the rainy season in Mexico, with daily showers, but the downpour is short. September to October is hurricane season, so it's not the best time to visit.

Mexico City International Airport (MEX). It is the main international airport serving Greater Mexico City. It's located in Peñón de los baños neighbourhood in Venustiano Carranza, 5 km east from Downtown Mexico City.

The helpful staff at Mexico Airport will greet you when you land and assist with your travel needs. Once you collect your bags from the arrivals area, there are various transport options available to get you on your way.         

Getting into Mexico from Mexico Airport     

Getting into Mexico City from the airport is easy, with different transport options available. Choose from taxis, bus, metrobus, metro, shuttle or car hire. Taxi is a convenient option taking 20 minutes to get to downtown Mexico City, with ranks located outside both terminals. You need to buy a ticket from an authorised retail outlet before using their services. Ride share services, Bolt, Uber and Cabify operate in Mexico City and you need to download the app first to request a car through this service. By bus, there are two terminals that run 24 hours a day to various locations in the city or take metrobus line 4 that also connects to the city. The Metro (subway) system is another option and the closest train station is a short walk from terminal 1. It's possible to organise a hotel shuttle, that departs from terminal 1 or you can rent a car. 

Getting around Mexico

There are many ways to get around Mexico, with different transport options available to explore the city. Some of the most popular modes are bus, metro, taxi, ride-share or car hire. Buses are a cost-effective way to get around Mexico City or you can take the metro subway to get you to where you want to go. It's best to buy a rechargeable smart card to use on the metro and metro buses. Taxis are available on the street or from hotels and be sure to ride in an official taxi. Ride share services, Bolt, Uber and Cabify operate in Mexico City and you need to download the app first to request a car through this service. It's possible to rent a car, though parking can be tricky, so if you use this option ensure you park in secure hotel parking.
