When to visit

The best time to visit Seattle is during summer, from June through to August with clear, dry days. It's the perfect time to enjoy views from the Space Needle, visit the city parks or hop on a ferry for a lovely way to see the city. Temperatures average around 23°C. Winters are very cold and wet, though it’s the holiday season and the city comes alive with Christmas events. It’s a good time to enjoy a show at a theatre or sip on a winter brew at a local brewery. Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (SEA). It is the primary airport serving the Seattle metropolitan area in the U.S. state of Washington. The airport is in the city of SeaTac, approximately 23 km south of Downtown Seattle.

Getting into Seattle from Seattle Airport

Getting into Seattle from the airport is easy with various transport options available. Choose from light rail, taxis, bus, app-based ride services, shuttles and an array of car rental companies. By bus, King County Metro has routes that serve Seattle and the best way to get to the bus stop is to take the walkway through the north end of the 4th floor of the airport parking garage. Sound Transit offers several express bus routes, 560 and 574 and the travel time is around 45 minutes. Light rail is a great option from the airport to downtown Seattle with frequent services. The station is on the 4th floor of the parking garage. It's best to buy an ORCA card to use on bus, light rail and train within Seattle. Hotels offering courtesy shuttles will pick up customers on the courtesy island shuttle lane, or you can organise a door to door shuttle service with one of the many providers. Taxis are a convenient option taking just 20 minutes to get down town or you may wish to book a ride share service such as Uber, Lyft or Wingz through the app. Pick up is located on the 3rd floor of the parking garage and is an efficient way to get to your destination.

Getting around Seattle

Seattle is easy to navigate with a wide variety of transport options. Link light rails makes trips from Angle Lake Station to the University of Washington through downtown Seattle, with regular services. King County Metro Transit provides a bus service in downtown Seattle and outlying neighbourhoods in King county. Seattle streetcars run throughout the city stopping near shops and restaurants and Lake Union’s waterfront park. The iconic Seattle Centre Monorail travels between Westlake Centre in downtown and Seattle Centre, and is a scenic way to get around. Five train routes service Seattle’s King Street Station, just south of downtown. It's best to buy an ORCA card to use on streetcars, light rail and buses. Taxis, limos and ride share apps operate throughout the city, if you wish to book an Uber or Lyft, they can be scheduled through the app. Rental cars are available in town, or you can rent a car by the hour with car sharing services. Seattle is a bike-friendly city. If you’re visiting, it’s easy to find a ride no matter where you are. Open your Uber app and select the bike option from the top menu to quickly reserve one.
