When to visit

With beautiful weather year-round, good restaurants, a lively arts scene and beautiful bike paths and parks, there is always a good time to visit Denver. The best time to visit is during autumn (between September and October) with fewer crowds and lovely weather. Temperatures range around 20°C to 25°C with dry days and when the parks and Colorado mountains are at their prettiest. It's a great time to ride a bike and stop at all the breweries along the way. Summer (June to August) is the best time to enjoy outdoor concerts, farmers markets and the food trucks at the Civic Centre. Winters are cold, dropping to -6°C to 7°C which is a good time to head to the mountains and ski.

Denver International Airport (DEN). It is an international airport in the Western United States, primarily serving metropolitan Denver, Colorado. The airport is located 40 km from Downtown Denver.

Arriving in Denver

The helpful staff at Denver Airport will greet you when you land. Once you collect your bags from the arrivals area, there are a number of different transport options available to get you on your way.

Getting into Denver from Denver Airport 

There are multiple transport options available for passengers at Denver airport to easily get to the city. Choose from train, bus, charter buses, car share, hotel shuttle, taxis and ride share. The A Line commuter train, offers convenient transport between DEN and downtown Denver with a travel time of 37 minutes to Denver Union Station. Public buses are available from the transit centre to various parts of the metro city, with buses departing every 15 minutes. Taxis are readily available outside the terminal to take you to your destination or you might like to use ride share apps like Lyft and Uber. The pickup zone is on level 5. Other options include hotel shuttle, limousines and charter buses. Car hire is available from the Jaspen terminal, with a courtesy shuttle from to take you to the terminal.

Getting around Denver

Getting around Denver is easy, with a range of transport options to suit your needs. The city has a straightforward grid system, making it simple to navigate. Choose from public transport, taxi, ride share, walking or cycling. Colorado's capital has a very good bus, train and light rail system. The light rail has over 78 stations throughout the city making it easy to get to where you want to go. The RTD rail system operates in Denver throughout the metro and surrounding areas. The entire city is connected through a beautiful series of bike paths and parks, making cycling a popular way to get around. You can rent a bike or scooter through Lyft and Lime. Taxis, car share and ride share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate in Denver and downtown is very walkable and most venues can be reached on foot. There are plenty of car hire companies available at competitive rates, which is a great option if you wish to reach the Rocky Mountains, canyons and national parks. Experience the sights and sounds of downtown Denver with the free 16th Street Mall Ride shuttle bus, which travels from one end of the shopping destination to the other.
