When to visit

There is plenty to see and do in Beirut all year round from skiing in the winter months, to beaches in summer. The most popular time to visit is during summer July to September, temperatures are hot around 30°C. Spring April to May is also a nice time to visit with less heat and fewer crowds. There can be some rain though, with temperatures around 21 to 25°C. Be sure to wonder along Beirut’s Corniche with the waterfront walk with spectacular views of the Mediterranean.

Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport (BEY). Is the only airport in Lebanon, located in the Southern suburbs of Beirut, Lebanon, 9 km from the city centre.

Arriving in Beirut

The staff at Beirut Airport will greet you when you land and assist with your travel needs. Once you collect your bags from the arrivals area, there are various transport options available to get you on your way.         

Getting into Beirut from Beirut Airport  

With a range of transport available at Beirut Airport, travelling into the city centre is easy. Taxi’s are the most convenient option; they are plentiful and very cheap. It takes around 30 minutes to reach the city centre or you can request and Uber through the app. Its possible to rent a car, though the roads can be very busy, so it’s safer to take a taxi. Coaches are another option, or you can organise a private transfer.

Getting around Beirut

There are various options to getting around Beirut including public transport, taxis, Uber, car or bike hire. Buses operate through out the city, though it can be tricky. There are no bus stops, you need to signal the driver as the bus approaches from the side of the road. Taxis or Uber is the best way to get around and its best to pre-book. There are hire cars available, through the roads and traffic can be busy and you need an international drivers license. Bike hire is also available, though there are no designated paths, or you can join a tour.

Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD). Is an international airport in Sydney, Australia located 8 km south of the Sydney central business district, in the suburb of Mascot.

Passengers on Qantas flights from Sydney are allocated checked baggage If you require extra luggage, you can purchase an additional baggage allowance online before departure. 

Checking in

Passengers travelling from Sydney, ensure you check-in online or via the Qantas App before you arrive at the airport from 24 hours before departure.
