When to visit

Palau enjoys a warm climate year-round, with an average temperature of 27°C. The best time to visit Palau is the dry season, from November to April with calm seas, warm days and perfect underwater visibility for diving, snorkelling and water activities. This is the peak tourist season, so it’s a good idea to book your accommodation in advance. Temperatures in summer range from 21°C to 32°C. The rainy season runs from May to November, still with plenty of sunshine, making it a good time to explore the museum, waterfalls or hike through the rainforest. It’s the perfect destination to visit anytime to experience paradise.

What is the main airport called?

Koror Palau International Airport (ROR). The airport is located 6km from Koror, which is the main town where you can find tours, accommodation and restaurants.

Arriving in Palau

The staff at Palau Airport will greet you when you land and assist with your travel needs. Then there are various transport options available to get you on your way.   

Getting into Palau from the airport

On arrival at Palau Airport, travelling into the city centre is easy. Choose from taxis, rental car or transfer. There are no taxis waiting at the airport, so be sure to arrange transport before arrival. By car, its about 20 minutes to Koror city centre.

Getting around Palau

To get around Palau and the islands is best done by boat, local ferry, joining a diving or snorkelling tour or even charter a yacht. There are a few bus routes in Koror which is the only public transport available or you can book a taxi or hire a rental car.
