Manchester has a generally mild climate. The warmest months are July and August with an average temperature of 20°C, which is the best time visit for outdoor activities. Getting into Manchester from Manchester Airport

Getting into Manchester city from Manchester Airport is easy, with many transport options available. It’s convenient to hire a car from the airport taking 25 minutes to get into the city centre. Train services run frequently through national train operators TransPennine Express and Northern Rail. Trains run every 10 minutes to Manchester Piccadilly, with an average journey time of 20 minutes. Bus and coach services run to and from Manchester Airport via The Station. The MetroLink tram is another public transport option, that runs direct from the airport to Cornbrook, a stop just outside the centre of the city. From Cornbrook there are frequent trams into the city centre. Black taxi cabs are available from all terminals for an easy trip to town. Uber and ride share services are also on offer.

Getting around Manchester

Getting around Manchester city and surrounding areas is easy once you arrive with a range of buses, trams and trains available. The compact nature of the city centre also makes walking a popular choice. Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is the official public transport body for the city and is helpful to plan your trip. Within the city centre, free bus provides a free hop on, hop off service linking all of the main rail stations, shopping districts and business areas. Bus services run right across Greater Manchester helping you get around. The Metrolink tram network or a train ride is one of the best ways to sightsee. Manchester is a bike-friendly city with many marked cycle lanes and dedicated routes throughout the city centre and walking or boat tours are popular way to explore.
