When to visit

Warsaw is one of the driest capitals in Europe with cold winters, warm summers and sunny autumns. The best time to visit is in summer June to August, with pleasant temperatures around 20°C making it a lovely time to see the attractions. May and September are other popular times to visit with fewer crowds, though temperatures are cool around 14°C. Winters are very cold, sometimes snow dropping to below freezing.

Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW). It is an international airport in the Wlochy district of Warsaw, Poland, located 10 km south-west of Warsaw city centre. 

Arriving in Wawsaw

The staff at Wawdaw Airport will greet you when you land and assist with your travel needs. Once you collect your bags from the arrivals area, there are various transport options available to get you on your way.         

Getting into Wawsaw from Wawsaw Airport

Getting into Warsaw from the airport is easy, thanks to the different range of transport options available. Choose from taxis, ride-share, bus, train, hotel shuttle or car rental. Taxi is a comfortable option to get to the city with the taxi rank located outside the arrivals level. It takes around 20 minutes to make the journey. Ride share services, Uber and Bolt operate in Warsaw and you just need to download the app to request a ride. If you prefer a private transfer, there are transfer services available or you can organise a hotel shuttle. Chopin Airport is directly connected by rail with the towns of Warsaw and is a fast option to get to the city in 20 minutes. The train station is located under terminal A. There are multiple bus routes that connect to key destinations in Warsaw and the bus stands are located on the arrivals area, which makes travelling to your destination simple. 

Getting around Wawsaw

Thanks to Warsaw's extensive transport network it makes it easy to travel around the city. Choose from public transport, taxis, ride-share or bike. Throughout the city, buses, metro and trams connect all parts of Warsaw making it an inexpensive way to travel. If you're staying downtown walking is a great way to get around as some of the attractions are located within walking distance of one another, including the Old Town. Taxis are available and be sure to ride in an official taxi, they can be hailed on the street or booked in advance. Using ride-share services Uber and Bolt are a handy way to travel, especially if you don’t speak Polish. Warsaw is a flat city, so renting a bike is a nice way to get around with many cycle paths especially along the Vistula River. The city has a bikeshare scheme with docking stations through the city.
