Public transport includes the Gautrain that connects the airport to major stations in the city, located in the international at departures level. Metrobus operates through the airport twice daily.

The best way to get around Johannesburg is by car with plenty of parking and car hire companies available. Uber and shared minibus taxis are a popular and safe way to get you where you want to go. Other options include the city sightseeing bus to see the major attractions including the Mining District, Carlton Centre and Gold Reef City. Public transport options include the Rea Vaya bus, Gautrain with regular services around the city. Taxis can be booked in advance, although they are not cheap. Alternatively, you may wish to join a tour.
