Classic Flight Rewards provide Qantas Frequent Flyer members with a great way to fly for a fixed points amount excluding taxes, fees and carrier charges. Classic Flight Rewards are available on eligible flights on Qantas, Jetstar, Emirates, oneworld® member airlines and selected Qantas Frequent Flyer airline partners and affiliates. You can book a Classic Flight Reward for yourself or an eligible family member
For Qantas, Jetstar and selected airline partner Classic Flight Rewards departing from Australia, you have the option to use points for taxes, fees and carrier charges on the Qantas website (excluding local airport fees or charges collected at time of check-in) on the payment page. For all other Classic Flight Rewards, they are payable with an approved payment card.
Classic Flight Rewards are bookable up to 353 days in advance. When you book on the Qantas website you can book up to two hours before departure for flights within Australia or up to four hours before departure for international flights. Bookings made through Qantas Contact Centres must be booked at least 24 hours before scheduled departure and some locations require earlier advance booking.
oneworld® Classic Flight Rewards are Classic Flight Reward seats on our oneworld member airlines and their affiliates. oneworld Classic Flight Rewards are limited to travel on oneworld member airlines and can't include travel on any other airline. oneworld Classic Flight Rewards are based on the total distance travelled or return flights, unlike the other Classic Flight Reward options which are based on one-way Trips. oneworld Classic Flight Rewards can travel up to a maximum of 35,000 miles on one itinerary. You need to include travel on at least two oneworld member airlines other than Qantas.
You won’t earn Qantas Points for Classic Flight Rewards, however if you’re a Points Club or Points Club Plus member you’ll earn Status Credits on Classic Flight Rewards with a Qantas flight number. View the Points Club Classic Flight Reward tables for details on eligible flights and earn rates.
Yes, you can use your Qantas Points to request an upgrade from Economy to Premium Economy, Economy to Business or Premium Economy to Business on a Classic Flight Reward booking. Find out more about eligible booking classes for Classic Upgrade Rewards

It’s easy to combine Classic Flight Rewards with Classic Plus Flight Rewards or cash fares on the Qantas website.
To complete a combined booking (with a Reward seat or cash fare) on qantas.com, follow the steps below:
- Log in to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account
- Open the Flight Search and enter your destination, travel dates and cabin
- Ensure the ‘Rewards’ toggle is not selected, then click the ‘Search Flights’ button
- A list of your flight options will now appear, including both Reward seat and cash fare options
- Select your preferred flight(s), and proceed to the payment page to complete your booking
If you combine non-Flight Reward fares with Flight Rewards, the most restrictive fare condition of the non-Flight Reward(s) applies to the segments booked as a Flight Reward for booking changes, cancellations and refunds.
No, you can’t change Classic Flight Reward or cash bookings to Classic Plus Flight Rewards or vice versa.
At the time of booking for a given cabin, subject to availability, you'll be offered either a Classic Flight Reward or a Classic Plus Flight Reward.

You must be a Qantas Frequent Flyer to earn and use Qantas Points. A joining fee may apply. Membership and points are subject to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program Terms and Conditions.

Minimum 5,000 to maximum 600,000 points per transfer. Family transfers do not keep your account active so your transferred points would ordinarily expire in accordance with the usual points expiry rules; 18 months after your last eligible points activity.
