Darwin has a 'wet' and a 'dry' season. The wet season is from November to April and is characterised by high humidity, monsoonal rains and storms. The dry season from May to October is filled with warm, dry sunny days and cool nights. Darwin Airport Located 13km from the city centre on Henry Wrigley Drive, Marrara, Darwin International Airport (DRW) is the busiest and largest airport in the Northern Territory. Both domestic and international services operate from the same airport.

Getting into Darwin from Darwin Airport

Darwin Airport is in Marrara, a short 15-minute drive from the city. With taxis, Ubers, car rentals and buses available, getting to the city from the airport is easy. If you're staying at one of the Accor Hotels in Darwin a free shuttle is available to take you to your accommodation.

Getting around Darwin

Darwin has many transport options including buses, car rentals, bicycle hire, and walkways. If you’d like to use the public bus network, purchase a Tap and Ride card as you board the bus or from bus interchanges, or buy single tickets on board (cash only).
