Qantas Luggage Tags no longer contain RFID technology for use at Bag Drop. Baggage tracking is now available through the Qantas App.

How it works

Remove the Qantas Luggage tag from the sustainable packaging sleeve by pulling on the tab and unhooking the eyelet from the small button.

Write your details using a permanent marker on the name plate inside the strap.

Slide the furthest strap from the button through your cabin baggage or checked luggage handle and hook it to the small button on the back of the tag by pushing it through the eyelet. Pull to secure and you're ready for take off.

Don't forget to attach it to your bag every time you travel.

How to get a Qantas Luggage Tag

If you retain Gold or Platinum status between May 2024 and April 2025, or achieve Silver, Gold or Platinum status, you can choose to receive a Qantas Luggage Tag as part of your tier status gift.

If you achieve Platinum One status, you'll automatically receive one in your Welcome Pack.
 

A red option is also available for purchase at any time from Qantas Marketplace for as little as A$20 or 3,470 Qantas Points.

Frequently asked questions

If your Bronze Qantas Luggage Tag breaks, please lodge a return through the Marketplace Returns Portal at your earliest convenience. You may need to provide photos of damaged or faulty products.

If your Silver, Gold or Platinum luggage tag breaks, please contact the Frequent Flyer Service Centre between the hours of 7am and 7pm (AET) Monday to Saturday.

If your Platinum One or Chairmans Lounge luggage tag breaks, please contact the VIP Service team. You can find the details in My Account

It features an RPET leather strap made from recycled plastic, and an anodised aluminium button wrapped in sustainably-sourced packaging.

The Q Bag Tag was developed to help track your luggage for domestic travel, using an embedded microchip.

The new Qantas Luggage Tag is aesthetic only, designed from sustainable materials and does not contain RFID technology for use at Bag Drop. Choose to attach yours to your cabin baggage or checked luggage.
