Stay in town at Gidgee Inn Motel, Cloncurry Holiday Park Oasis or Discovery Parks and choose from the many pubs, cafes and restaurants nearby sure to satisfy your hunger - or follow the locals to Cloncurry Bakery on Scarr Street and sample delicious fresh pies, sandwiches and cakes.

Close to town you can stroll through Mary Kathleen Park, walk to the lookout and drop in at the Visitor Information Centre where you’ll find advice, maps and information for your stay. Inside the centre you’ll also find the Cloncurry Unearthed display with one of Australia’s largest collections of gems and minerals, as well as historical photos and artefacts.

Your stay in ‘The Curry’ won’t be complete without a taste of the history, hospitality and splendour of the great Australian outback. Be sure to add these activities to your trip in Cloncurry, starting with a visit to learn about the history of the Royal Flying Doctor Service at John Flynn Museum and Art Gallery, or spot the original Qantas aircraft hangar at Cloncurry Airport, still in use since the 1920’s. You can visit the Mary Kathleen abandoned uranium mine, a one hour drive from town and filled with sparkling turquoise water.

Or go back in time at Unearthed Cloncurry, which hosts historical relics and a huge collection of minerals and gems. Find your fortune with a fossick license purchased at the Visitor Information Centre. Or head further afield with a drive to the Chinaman Creek Dam and stop on the way at Cloncurry lookout with views stretching over the region.

Getting around

From the airport

The Cloncurry Airport is located approximately 4km from town. A limited shuttle service is available from Aussie Outback Airport Shuttles which requires advance booking.

In and around the city

Aussie Outback offer a charter service for transport around Cloncurry and the wider region, prior arrangement is necessary. A weekday bus services runs from Cloncurry to Mount Isa where hire cars are also available.
