What is the main airport called?
Penang International Airport (PEN). It's one of the busiest airports in Malaysia. The airport is located near Bayan Lepas at the southeastern tip of Penang Island, 16 km south of the city centre.

It's best to buy a prepaid taxi voucher inside the building to avoid being overcharged. Alternatively, you could request a ride through Grab, a ride share service. If you would like a private transfer, you can book a transfer to any destination in Penang. There is a bus service that is frequent and covers most destinations from the airport. The trip takes around an hour to get into the city. It's possible to rent a car, though its best to take a taxi or rent a car with a driver, or you may wish to organise a hotel shuttle.

There is a free shuttle bus that goes around George Town and is a good way to see all the interesting sights. If travelling on the RapidPG bus network it’s a good idea to buy a pass for unlimited travel for a week. If you're adventurous, you can hire a motorbike for a cheap way to get around, or it’s fun to take a ride in a rickshaw, found mainly in the centre of George Town. Penang island is not that big, though renting a car is a great way to see the island.
