When to visit

Singapore is hot and humid all year-round, with temperatures usually reaching over 30°C. You should be prepared for rain at any time, which can be torrential but usually short. Late February to early April are the best times to travel to Singapore. During these months, you'll miss the heavy rains of November, December and January. May and June are the hottest times to visit, with an average temperature of 32°C. Between July and September are pleasant times to visit with lots of sun and many events and festivals on including the Singapore Food Festival and Grand Prix season.

What is the main airport called?

Singapore Changi Airport, commonly known as Changi Airport (SIN). The airport is a major civilian airport that serves Singapore and one of the largest transportation hubs in Asia. The airport is located in Changi, at the eastern end of Singapore, approximately 20 km from Marina Bay, Singapore's Downtown centre.

Arriving in Singapore

The friendly staff at Singapore Airport will greet you when you land and assist you with your travel needs. Once you collect your bags from the arrivals area, there are various transport options available to get you on your way.         

Getting into Singapore from Singapore Airport

Getting into Singapore from Changi Airport is easy, with many transport options available. Public transport options include buses from terminals 1,2,3 and 4. To get to the city by train, take the train from Changi Airport MRT Station to Tanah Merah MRT Station (EW4), then transfer to the East West Line towards Tuas Link MRT Station. Taxis are available for hire at the taxi stands in the arrival areas of terminal 1 and terminal 3. A ride to the city takes about 30 minutes and costs between S$20 and S$40. All fares are metered. You can also rent a car at any car rental counter at the arrival hall. A 24-hour airport transfer offers convenient transfers from Changi Airport to your destination. Ride-share options are also available.

Getting around Singapore

Singapore's public transport system is fast and efficient and will whizz you to memorable attractions with ease. Singapore’s MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) system is probably the fastest way to zip around the city. Most popular attractions are just a short walk away from an MRT station, making trains a great way to get around. Singapore's bus system has an extensive network of routes covering most places in Singapore and is an economical and scenic way to get around. Taxis are comfortable and a handy way to see places. Singapore has a well-connected network of cycling paths, and you can rent shared bicycles or jump in an Uber to get around town.

London Heathrow Airport (LHR) in London is the UK’s largest and busiest airport as well as being the busiest airport in Europe.
