From killer surf to culinary hotspots, Byron is a free-spirited beachside oasis. Sometimes referred to as the wellbeing capital of Australia, Byron is the perfect place to disconnect and unwind. Start your day by stretching out with yoga at Creature Yoga. Take in the views from Australia's most easterly point with a morning stroll to Byron's lighthouse. If your version of a healthy start is a big brekkie, dig into the hearty, plant-based brunch menu at Folk. To try Byron's effortless style on for size, visit Spell Boutique for boho dresses. Beach-hopping is one of the best ways to explore Byron. Wategos is a standout. The lagoon that forms near Captain Cook Lookout after high tide is also a favourite waterhole, especially for little ones.
Venture inland to the nearby town of Ewingsdale for lunch at The Farm. This paddock-to-plate style eatery is housed on a 32-hectare property complete with gardens and beehives. Looking for surf? The gently curved shoreline at The Pass means great waves for beginners and pros alike. Hikers should venture out of town for trails around Minyon Falls or take a day trip out to quirky Newrybar. While you’re there, pop into The Newrybar Merchants which showcases local artisans and fine goods. Head back into town for dinner at Barrio, where the menu focuses on grilling meat, veggies and seafood to perfection. Keep your eyes out for regular happy hours at popular places such as the Loft or Balcony Bar, for drink and snack specials, along with live music. Post-dinner drinks and tunes can be found at Locura.
