When to visit

Fiji has a warm, pleasant subtropical climate year-round, with temperatures sitting between and 26 to 31°C year-round.  The best time to visit for sunny blue skies is from May through to September. The warm tropical climate makes for a perfect beach and pool side holiday.

Summer, October through to April make up the wet season with long hot days, short afternoon downpours that can come from nowhere and then move on quickly, stunning sunsets and some humidity. When rain hits, it’s the perfect time to slip to the bar for a cocktail, escape the sun or relax with a massage.

Arrival information

What is the main airport called?

Nadi International Airport (NAN). It is the main international airport of Fiji as well as an important regional hub for the South Pacific islands, located by the coast on the western side of the main island Viti Levu. The airport is located at Namaka 10 km from the city of Nadi. There is a domestic and international terminal.

Arriving in Nadi

The helpful and friendly Nadi Airport staff will greet you when you land, with a warm ‘Bula’ and from there, getting into Nadi and resorts is easy.

Getting into Nadi from Nadi Airport

There are a number of transport options from the airport to your accommodation, including bus, shuttle, taxis or boat if you’re staying at one of the islands. There is a public bus that can take you into Nadi town, it’s easy to hire a taxi, though be sure to ask for the meter to be turned on. It’s about 10 minutes to town by taxi. Alternatively, you may wish to book a private transfer or hire a car to explore the scenic destinations surrounding the town.

 Getting around Nadi

Getting around Nadi is easy and affordable, whether you’re using public transport, driving, catching taxis and transfers, joining a tour or even hiring a bike. Tours are a popular way to experience Nadi, the culture and the Fijian Islands. There are multiple cruises to see the crystal-clear, warm tropical waters of the islands. If you prefer to get out and about at your own pace, it's easy to rent a car. If you are staying at a resort on Denarau Island, the Bula Bus can transfer you between the resorts and port.
