Catering to both budget-conscious travellers and luxury-seekers, Kings Canyon Resort is an outback oasis, providing a gateway to the breathtaking Watarrka National Park.
Kings Canyon Resort is located in Australia’s Northern Territory, mid-way between Alice Springs and Uluru / Ayers Rock. Sensitively designed to ensure that it has minimal impact on its surrounding, a deluxe spa room, a standard room, a budget lodge room or the intimacy of a campsite at the resort, all offer you sanctuary from the rugged desert night.
The resort is located in Watarrka National Park, nine kilometres from the magical sandstone formation of Kings Canyon. It is the perfect oasis from which to explore the natural wonders of Kings Canyon. Pass through the eerie formations of weathered rock known as ‘The Lost City’. Experience the rim walk by climbing to the top of Kings Canyon to view the spectacular sunrise or sunset.
The award-winning Under a Desert Moon dining experience features four delicious courses, set against a backdrop of a star-speckly sky, ends a perfect day.
SELF DRIVING TO KINGS CANYON:
Kings Canyon Resort is located on Luritja Road, just 7 km from Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon). By road it lies 3 hours from Uluru and approximately 4 hours from Alice Springs via the Stuart Highway. Alternatively, if travelling to/from Alice Springs, the Mereenie Loop Road is a partly unsealed road suitable for 4WD only (a pass is required which can be obtained from Alice Springs Tourist Office or Kings Canyon Resort on the day that you are driving).
All the major car hire companies operate out of Alice Springs and you can choose from a range of 4WDs or standard sedan options. Please contact the hire car company directly for assistance with a booking.
