Check-in
Check-in opens 4 hours before departure and closes 1 hour prior to departure for Qantas operated services.
For Qantas codeshare flights, passengers may need to check in with the operating carrier rather than with Qantas. Ask airport staff for more detail.
Online check-in is available for Qantas international flights (QF1-199), and other eligible connecting flights operated by oneworld, partner and codeshare airlines. Online check-in is open from 24 hours to two hours before departure for international flights.

Arrivals
All customers arriving at San Francisco may need to collect their baggage and clear customs and immigration, regardless of their final destination. Follow the advice of your customer service agent upon check-in.

Transfers
For flights arriving at the international terminal with connections out of the domestic terminal
If you have an onward connection you should exit the arrivals hall through the 'Connecting Flights' doors. If your bags have been tagged to your final destination they can be rechecked at the desks located outside the exit. If the desks are not attended or your bags not tagged to your final destination check them in with the airline you’re flying on.
All connecting passengers are required to clear security before boarding their next flight.

For flights arriving at terminal 1 or 2 with connections out of the international terminal
If you are arriving into terminals 1 or 2 with a connecting flight departing from the international terminal please follow the advice of your check-in agent or visit the San Francisco AirportOpens in a new tab or window page for current procedures, you may need to collect your bags and clear security in between flights.
You can walk between terminals by following the directional signs, alternatively the AirTrain offers free travel between terminals.
For flights arriving at terminal 3 with connections out of the international terminal
If you are arriving into terminal 3 connecting to a Qantas flight make your way to the boarding area A security checkpoint.
If your bags are not tagged to your final destination see a Qantas Customer Service Agent at the international terminal.

Train | Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) operates regular services to the city centre, northern San Mateo County, and the East Bay. The airport station is located on the departures level (level 3) of the international terminal, and is accessible from Terminals 1, 2 and 3 via the AirTrain. Visit Bay Area Rapid Transport for current fares and routes. Other rail services connect to this line including the CalTrain shuttle service for travel between San Francisco and San Jose. |
