Cruise to world-famous Whitehaven Beach for a day of sun, sand and crystal clear water, take a day trip and go diving or snorkelling on the Reef or set sail through the surrounding islands with a range of bareboat and chartered sailing options. By far the best swimming beach is Catseye Beach on the eastern side of the island.
If you prefer land based activities, hike Passage Peak, the highest point on the island along with 20km worth of bushwalking trails on the island with great views over the Whitsundays, pack a picnic and watch the sunset at One Tree Hill and be sure to hire a buggy to get around the island. For keen golfers, it's worth playing a round on the Hamilton Island Golf Club located on its own private island.

There is a free shuttle service that follows three routes around the island and all accommodation bookings include free transfers to and from the Hamilton Island Airport. Visitors can also hire iconic golf buggies, for self-touring and a fun, convenient way to get around. Its best to pre-book a buggy in advance to beat the queue.
