Pet travel
We know you care about your pet’s safety and comfort when flying just as much as we do. Your pet’s welfare is our priority and we understand that each pet and animal is unique and can react very differently to the environment around them, especially when travelling.
Animals and pets travelling on a Qantas flight travel in a special area in the hold of a passenger aircraft, where the temperature and noise are similar to those experienced in the cabin.
Book your pet first
It's important to book your pet's flight before you book your own, as there are restrictions around which flights pets and animals can travel on.
Service animals
Service dogs can be carried in the passenger cabin of the aircraft with you.
If you intend to travel with a Guide, Hearing or Assistance dog, visit Service dogs to find out the necessary information and application requirements before you fly.
Pet flights
Australian domestic travel
With Qantas Freight, you can book your pet to fly across our entire domestic network. For more information on what you need to do, and to make a booking, visit Qantas Freight
International travel
When travelling internationally, we strongly recommend using a pet travel specialist due to the complexity of customs and quarantine requirements. Just mention that you’d like your pet to travel on a Qantas aircraft.
