Renowned chef Wolfgang Puck (famed for his hospitality empire throughout America) is set to open The Bistro at Sydney Airport’s T1 International Departures, alongside Benny Burger by Shannon Bennett (Vue de Monde) and local eatery Kitchen by Mike.

Housed within the new City View precinct, the venues will offer passengers a gourmet dining experience – just steps away from the boarding gates – complemented by new beverage outposts Heineken House and Joe & The Juice, a concept juice bar.

Puck’s Bistro will deliver relaxed Italian trattoria-style dining, serving gourmet pasta and wood-fired pizza, and will be the chef's first Australian venture. “I am delighted to partner with Sydney Airport and launch The Bistro in T1,” he said. “I hope passengers travelling internationally are just as excited as we are about the new and unique offering.”

Bennett, on the other hand, will focus on Aussie staples with his deluxe range of burgers. This will include signature burger The Chang, combining Blackmore Wagyu beef, a free-range fried egg and pickled beetroot.

“The ideas behind Benny Burger embrace the Australian way of life; a love of good times, grabbing a bite, sharing a few laughs and knowing you are supporting sustainable practices and local producers,” said Bennett.

The upgrade comes as part of larger improvements to Sydney Airport’s T1, including a new luxury shopping strip due to open in mid-2016.
