The starred restaurants are where you’ll find some of the most refined cooking in the country: the two-star Sorn in Sukhumvit is all about super-spicy Southern Thai flavours woven into haute cuisine, while one-star Gaa (pictured) is an innovative take on modern Indian dining. But, as is so often the case in Thailand, the streets are where it’s at. Try the legendary Jeh O Chula, whose ripper Mama Noodles Tom Yum has earned it a Michelin Bib Gourmand, or look for the tell-tale Michelin man sign anywhere along Charoen Krung Road, like the fragrant and smoky pork congee from Jok Prince.
