The Luxe Cruise With An Unexpected Twist
Luxury ocean cruise line Regent Seven Seas Cruises is taking its epic voyages to another level thanks to a collaboration with jewellery maison Fabergé.
The brands have collaborated to create two new Spotlight Voyages – the first in June 2023 from London to Stockholm, the second in July 2024 from Rome to Monte Carlo – giving guests exclusive access to the fine jeweller. You’ll be brought into the world of Fabergé with small-group masterclass programs, lectures and intimate shoreside tours. The pièce de résistance? A Fabergé egg inspired by the ocean (pictured above).
The storied jewel can only be seen aboard the new Seven Seas Grandeur when the ship takes its maiden voyage in November of this year. The 373 all-suite vessel features luxe touches everywhere you look, from the multi-million dollar art collection to the crystal-encrusted Compass Rose restaurant.
Travellers will discover Fabergé’s origins aboard the first Spotlight Voyage (London to Stockholm) on a 10-night Seven Seas Splendor cruise, hosted by Fabergé curatorial director Dr Géza von Habsburg. You’ll take in the Royal Danish Collection in Copenhagen through Dr. von Habsburg’s discerning lens and privately dine in the quaint German city of Kiel. For true buffs, there’s an option to extend your travels with a pre-cruise experience in London which takes you from the gleaming Fabergé headquarters to an exclusive shopping experience in Harrods and a private viewing of the royal portraits in Westminster Abbey.
Or, join the second Spotlight Voyage where you’ll float through the Mediterranean from Rome to Monte Carlo aboard the new Seven Seas Grandeur and see the bespoke egg “objet” in person.
Rome → Monte Carlo
10 nights
Departs 1 July 2024
Includes up to 98 shore excursions
On this epic 10-night all-inclusive journey, you’ll gaze awestruck at the Sistine Chapel, see the friezes of Barcelona through Pablo Picasso’s eyes at Museu de Picasso and admire the Impressionistic landscapes of the French Riviera that inspired a legion of great artists.
Or simply stay onboard the Seven Seas Grandeur to continue soaking up the culture, with a Fabergé egg the crown jewel of a prized at-sea art collection and an immersive itinerary of experiences led by Sarah Fabergé, a direct descendant of the jewellery dynasty.
Setting sail from the Eternal City, the ship cruises along the sun-drenched Amalfi coast and down to Sicily, making pit stops at resort towns like Taormina, where you can drink in volcanic vistas over a seaside aperitif and browse high-end boutiques on the Corso Umberto.
A day trip to Valletta, Malta’s capital, offers an authentic Mediterranean experience steeped in history – the entire city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore crumbling Roman ruins, sip natural wine at a local bar, or take a day tour to Dingli Cliffs, where you can witness the windswept vistas from a 250-metre-high vantage point.

A leisurely day at sea allows you to take advantage of the Grandeur’s impressive amenities – perhaps wine-tasting in the lounge, attending a Fabergé masterclass, or savouring frogs’ legs in a garlic cream sauce at fine-dining restaurant Chartreuse – before stopping at Ibiza and Palma de Mallorca. Sure, the Spanish ports buzz at night but daytime is when you can enjoy authentic fare in sleepy villages shrouded by bougainvillea or hike through lush pine forest trails.
A journey through the French Riviera reveals lavender and ancient olive grove landscapes intersected by the sparkling Mediterranean sea. No wonder destinations like Antibes and Provence played muse to artists like Monet, Matisse, Renoir, Van Gogh and Cézanne (you can check out the latter’s well-preserved studio in Provence).
To end the journey, an overnight in Monte Carlo gives ample time to stroll along the luxury yacht-studded waterfront and Jardin Exotique, then watch a glittering show at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo.
