Experience Beauty and the Beast at Disneyland California

Brought to you by Disneyland Resort in California
The live-action movie is set to hit cinemas soon. Here’s how you can be part of the fairytale.
There’s a reason the tune to Be Our Guest has been stuck in your head for months – the much-loved animated film Beauty and the Beast is being released as a live-action movie on March 17. To mark the occasion, Disneyland Park’s Fantasyland has been given a Beauty and the Beast makeover for a limited time.
Meet
Your favourite characters will keep up their regular strolls through the park, though they may be more excitable than normal thanks to their upcoming appearances in the film. Snap a picture with Belle and keep an eye out for the villainous Gaston. He’s developed a reputation through the years for accepting push-up challenges from park guests (and winning) so try your hand at a physical contest if you spot him.

Eat
The existing Village Haus Restaurant will be transformed into the Red Rose Taverne, named for the magical flower in the film and styled after inns in the little town in rural France Belle calls home. Scenes from the original animation cover the walls, with each room telling a different part of the story, and the menu will be overhauled to feature French-inspired cuisine and signature drinks. It’s unlikely the flatware will be entertaining or that your candlestick will be as witty as Lumière, but you can certainly pretend! The twists from Maurice’s Treats snack cart (named for Belle’s inventor father if it’s been a while since you’ve seen the movie) in Fantasy Faire are ideal for a quick snack. Pair them with a marinara, strawberry or “grey stuff” dipping sauce.
Watch
Head to the Royal Theatre (a gothic tent structure inside Fantasy Faire) to see actors and clever animatronics perform a shortened version of the Beauty and the Beast tale each day. Until March 26, an eight-minute extended 3D preview of the film will be played continuously at the Sunset Showcase Theater in Hollywood Land and, once the movie is released, you’ll be able to catch it at one of cinemas in the Downtown Disney District. You can also pick up Beauty and the Beast merchandise at a specialised stand next to the Red Rose Taverne.
