Singapore’s Most Instagrammable Museum Has New Online Experiences
The ArtScience Museum, famed for the massive lotus exterior that shapes the dramatic Marina Bay skyline, has just launched a new online program to bring its 5000 square metres of gallery space and exhibitions to you at home.
The museum, which first opened its doors in 2014, is known for exhibits that celebrate the intersections between art, science and technology and has seen the work of brands, artists and innovators from Disney to Dalí.
The ArtScience at Home program includes a range of talks, performances, virtual tours and interactive activities, including:
- An online “conference”, Feeling the Future, which features talks from thought leaders on their visions of human adaptation to an uncertain future shaped by COVID-19, among other potential challenges. Talks will be scheduled every other Tuesday with the first talk taking place April 28.
- ArtScience Late – online performances by local artists, starting on the third Thursday in May.
- Guided video tours with a museum ambassador walking and talking you through popular exhibits. There are currently tours of 2219: Futures Imagined and FUTURE WORLD: Where Art Meets Science with more to be posted every other Tuesday.
- Online workshops for easy DIY crafts that kids can do at home with basic materials.
