Qantas is offering an additional four Sydney to Hong Kong services each week (in addition to the daily services available from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane). Need another excuse to go to Honkers? Akash Arora gives you three, in the form of these new restaurants.

London House

Offering alfresco seating, harbour views, all-day dining and a rolling roster of DJs and live bands, this is British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s second restaurant in Hong Kong (after Bread Street Kitchen and Bar, which opened in September last year). Located in the city’s Tsim Sha Tsui East neighbourhood, London House is more casual, with British pub food such as burgers, shepherd’s pie and bangers and mash taking centrestage.

Momojein

Tender slices of octopus topped with fresh okra, pork belly served with slow-roasted garlic, and stir-fried potato noodles in soy sauce. These are just a few of the dishes on offer at Momojein – a new Korean restaurant in Wan Chai. It’s headed by chef Lim Hee Won and is housed in a bright, high-ceilinged space with booth seating and exposed beams.

Issaya Siamese Club

The Bangkok restaurant by the same name is a well-known eatery, coming in at 39 in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2015 list. Now, its sister restaurant comes to Hong Kong’s Causeway Bay. Ian Kittichai, chef and co-founder of the original, is the man in charge of a menu that includes crowd-pleasers such as twice-cooked beef short ribs with a sweet chilli and lime dipping sauce.
