A combination of industrial detailing and natural materials, the “SQ38 Plano” watch speaks to Wang’s aesthetic. Squarestreet is a shop packed with accessories designed by local talent yet “it’s anything but ‘crafty’”, says Wang. “The designs are refined, chic, edgy and affordable.”

“You can’t have too many cushions,” says Wang, who admires her cousin, Christina Wang, for her works in ink on silk. Applying her craft to silk cushions, the artist and designer injects a little fun into the Chinese zodiac.

The classic white shirt is a “travel essential” for Wang, whose personal style tends towards the androgynous. Pye is a shirt maker that combines traditional Hong Kong tailoring with modern detailing.

If you were to collect the work of one Chinese designer, you’d make it Chi Wing Lo, says Wang, who describes the former art director of Italian luxury furniture maker Giorgetti as “striving for a synthesis of past and present”.
