Qantas will again join The Australian Ballet as the company’s international tour partner on their eighth trip to China. This month the company will take part in two of China’s prestigious festivals, the 2015 Dance Festival of the National Center for the Performing Arts and Shanghai international Arts Festival.

The Australian Ballet’s highly praised signature works will be performed as part of the tour, including Graeme Murphy’s Cinderella, alongside a mixed bill program of contemporary displays. Chinese-Australian Chengwu Guo will feature in several roles within the tour, including Cinderella’s prince and has described the opportunity to return to where his training began as an honour.

The company is promising impressive shows, hosting a touring party of large proportions, with 112 people, 3 sets, and more than 400 costumes – not to mention the hundreds of shoes.

Australia’s Attorney-General and Minister for the Arts Hon George Brandis QC, along with the Minister for Foreign Affairs the Hon Julie Bishop confirmed that the Federal Government would also be supporting the tour.

The tour will commence in Beijing on the 16th of October.
