Hotel Komune Bali
Set your holiday plans in motion with Hotel Komune – Bali's newest accommodation offering.
Keramas, on a black-sand beach on Bali’s south-eastern coast, was missing from travellers’ maps until two surf-loving Australians established the Hotel Komune resort in 2012. Although the name of the village is now clearly on the map (between Sanur and Candidasa), Hotel Komune retains its off-the-beaten-track appeal. Starting out primarily as a surf resort, it launched the Health Hub in 2015, offering yoga, fitness classes, a second swimming pool (perfect for laps or just lolling) and a restaurant with dozens of healthy choices. In addition to luxurious villas, it now has 22 new, understated beachfront suites with a horizon-edge dip pool off the sundeck and views of the Beach Club and beyond to the Keramas surf break. There’s also the new Free Range Kids Club, which has a skate park, flying fox and strict no-screens rule. Everything is linked by sandy paths winding through gardens. If you want some serious downtime, book the signature four-hand massage at the Health Hub spa or an appointment at the hair and beauty salon.
