Southern Bali Hides a Secret Paradise
Brought to you by The Ungasan Clifftop Resort.
Away from the bustle of Seminyak, Sundays Beach Club is an exclusive beachfront location ideal for couples, families and friends.
Sundays turns a Bali holiday into a vacation you will never forget. Private beach? Tick. Breathtaking views? Tick. Sunbeds and beanbags on the beach? Tick. Friendly Balinese service? Tick. Massage by the sea? Tick. Cocktails? Tick. Water sports? Tick.
Emerging from the edge of a lush jungle, the famous angular, thatched roofs stretch over pristine sand and rows of picture-perfect beach umbrellas, with the only way to access this luxurious wonderland by inclinator – 150-metres down a cliff face.
It’s the perfect place to relax, whether you fancy snorkel in one of the crystal-clear rock pools or enjoy a kayak or stand-up paddleboard on the reef. If a massage is more your definition of relaxing, opt for one outdoors overlooking the tranquil blue of the ocean.
And after, or while, you’re relaxing your day away, make sure you check out the extensive and thoughtful all-day menu. Sundays works closely with local growers, farmers and fishermen to bring the freshest ingredients to their tables and has partnered with renowned Australian chef James Viles, owner of Biota Dining, a two-hatted restaurant in Bowral, NSW. The seafood feast is not to be missed and is perfect for sharing under the stars with good friends and family. Think fresh-caught Flores oysters, tuna sashimi, beach clams, whole sea prawns, barbequed octopus and Jimbaran snapper just to start.
And after you feast – or before – make sure you visit the Circular Bar where you will find a cocktail menu as long as your cliff-face descent to Sundays. Try the Cucumber Roska, a gin-based drink made with fresh cucumber, basil and lime or the Sundays Cooler, Bali’s answer to a spritz, made from vodka, sauvignon blanc, passionfruit puree and soda for that essential refreshing fizz.
While a spontaneous visit to Sundays is welcome, reservations will get you the best spot on the beach or the deck. You’ll also receive VIP access.
Eventually every Sunday has to end but The Ungasan Clifftop Resort is directly above for a luxurious rest so you can be ready for the next day, which coincidentally, will be Sunday again.
Sundays is open seven days, 9am to 10pm, The Bukit Peninsula Bali.
