While the three-storey Canberra Centre shopping complex doesn’t offer anything particularly eye-catching or game-changing in terms of its design or the culture it espouses, the recent redevelopments to its borders make for a sprawling, something-for-everyone kind of shopping experience. As well as basking in light through its many glass facades, the Canberra Centre offers basic fare such as supermarkets and department stores to more upmarket shops like Zara and Aesop. On the ground level of the 300+ store complex you’ll find people jostling for spots at the Jamie Oliver-owned restaurant Jamie’s Italian and the hugely popular chocolate-addiction-enabler, Koko Black.
